Edwin Boyers received a message yesterday from his brother-in-law, Dr. George Stell, announcing the death of his father, R. H. Boyers, which occurred at 9 o'clock in the morning in Brownsville.

The announcement of his death was not unexpected, as he was known to be failing in health. He had been afflicted for some time with asthma, which was complicated with grippe and dropsy.

The remains will be brought here tomorrow at noon over the Santa Fe and the funeral will take place on the arrival of the train. Rev. J. H. Griffin, pastor of the Lamar Avenue Methodist church, of which the deceased was a member, will conduct the funeral.

The deceased was born in Mississippi and was in his eightieth year. He came to Paris in 1881 and had lived here ever since until a few years ago, when he and his wife went to Brownsville to live with their daughter.

His wife and two sons, A. E. and M. W. Boyers of this city, and two daughters, Mrs. George S. Stell of Brownsville and Mrs. J. S. Hill of Ardmore, OK, survive him.

The deceased was a member of the Masonic lodge and of Albert Sidney Johnston Camp Confederate Veterans. J. R. Justiss, Commander of the camp, requests that as many members as can do so attend the funeral.

Burial will be at Evergreen.
