Donna Maylone MUSCATINE, Iowa - Donna Maylone, 63, of Muscatine, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at the University of Iowa Hospital. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Sharon Phillips will officiate. After the service, a luncheon will be held at the Robins Nest restaurant in Muscatine. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in Donna's name at the funeral home. Mrs. Maylone was born on Sept. 6, 1939, in Muscatine, the daughter of Alva W. and Nellie Shoemaker Beason. She married Donald Maylone on August 24, 1973. She worked at Wal-Mart in Muscatine as a sales clerk. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge. She liked to fish and do puzzles, but most of all she dearly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Donald Maylone of Muscatine; four sons, Robert Slutts and his wife, Tina, of Muscatine, Scott Slutts and his wife, Christy, of Muscatine, Shannon Slutts and his wife, Heidi, of Davenport and Charles Maylone and his wife, Marlo; two step-sons, Jerry Maylone and his wife, Sherry, and Donald Maylone and his wife, Beth, all of Muscatine; two daughters, Mary Cole and her husband, Terry, of Muscatine, Robin Hamlin of Morning Sun; one step-daughter Angie Maylone of Des Moines; three brothers, Wallace Beason of Muscatine, Roy Beason of Muscatine, and Alva Beason and his wife, Donna, of Ankeny; four sisters, Helma Montgomery and her husband, Vick, of Minnesota, Minnie Montgomery of Grandview, Mary Schantz and her husband, Don, of Ainsworth and Nellie Sill of Texas; and 29 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, John Murry; one son, Glenn Slutts; two step-daughters, Melissa Maylone and Christine Maylone; and two brothers.
