Gerdis C. Acox

Services for Gerdis C. Acox will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in Bettes Chapel, conducted by The Rev. Danny Simpson, of the Jehovah Witness Church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Acox was born June 1, 1894 in Cullam County, Alabama. He married Thelma Albin in Montague County, Tx., on June 19, 1922. He had resided in this community since 1945. He was a self-employed carpenter and resided at 417 H St.NW. His previous residence was in Ringling. Acox died Monday at a Local hospital.
Bearers will be members of the disabled American Veterans and graveside services will be conducted by Commander Foy Heron of the DAV.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma, of the home; two sons, Douglas and Jerry, both of Ardmore; one daughter, Yuma Allen, Bellville, Ark.; two brothers, Clark and Meridith, both of Ringling; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Barnes and Mrs. Willie Wigham, both of Ringling; 8 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Lonnie Long, Fount Owen, William B. Ashton, Wesley Henderson, Leslie Blount and Foy Heron.
