To be Buried on Wednesday
Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, at Emmanel Lutheran Church at Orum for Pearl Leona Buchardt who died April 18 at Memorial Commiunity Hospital in Blair.
Rev. Russell Saltzman will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Orum Cemetery.
Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 48 of Arlington will hold graveside services.
Pearl Leona Buchardt was born September 4, 1905, in rural Arlington to E.V. and Laura Nielsen Newkirk. She married T.W. Buchardt and they farmed in the Arlington area until their retirement. At that time they moved to Orum.
She was preceded in death by her husband in March of 1971; her parents; three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by a stepmother, Mrs. Lottie Newkirk of Blair; one daughter, Mrs Allen (Nadine) Sorensen, Alrington; and two sons, Emil Buchardt, Fremont; and Leo Buchardt, Wanamingo, Minnesota. Nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. John (Ople Lee) Hart, Blair; Mrs. Helen Anderson, Blair; and Mrs Alvin (Hazel) Katt, Arlington.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Buchardt, L. Robert Buchardt, Micheal Buchardt, Todd Buchardt, Kevin Sorensen and Steven Sorensen.
Music will be provided by Opal Jensen and Ardith Rasmussen.
Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
