BURNSVILLE - Funeral services for Milton M. Metcalf, 71, who died Friday afternoon at his home at Paint Gap after a short illness, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the home.
Burial will be in the family cemetery.
Metcalf was a native and lifelong resident of Yancey County.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ida Metcalf; five daughters, Mrs. Walter Meachum of Cottage Hill, Florida, Mrs. Tom Burleson of Mars Hill, Mrs. Sam McPeters of Paint Gap, Mrs. Arvelyn Angel and Mrs. Eugene Johnson of Burnsville; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Ray of Mars Hill and Mrs. Ella Gillis of Woodfin; one brother, W. W. Metcalf of Mars Hill; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home is in charge.
