Albert F. Gallatin, 88, went to be with the Lord at 9:40 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2005, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Charlotte M. (Jacobs) Gallatin, with whom he celebrated a 68th wedding anniversary on October 30. Memorial service Thursday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, York, his pastor, the Rev. Kevin T. Shively, officiating. Private burial in Greenmount Cemetery. Mr. Gallatin was born in York on March 27, 1917, a son of the late Herbert F. and Edna (Graybill) Gallatin. He worked for Voith Hydro for 35 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1977. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Shiloh American Legion Post #791, York American Legion Post #127, and the 13th Ward. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. In addition to his wife, Mr. Gallatin leaves a son, Lynn A. Gallatin of OH; a daughter, Barbara A. Stephenson of Middletown; a granddaughter, Krista L. Weisberg of OH; a grandson, Matthew A. Gallatin of OH; a greatgranddaughter, Paige R. Weisberg; a sister, Ruth Walker of Bellefonte; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special little children, Brycen and Cierra Roberts of Bressler. A daughter, Rebecca MacPherson Gallatin; and three sisters, Dorothy Zelinka, Margaret McKim, and Gloria Fahs, preceded him in death. [York Daily Record]
