On Friday, August 17, 2012 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland, beloved husband of Eva S. Chesley; Devoted father of Dr. James S. Chesley, Jr. (Camille) and Rev. Dr. Joyce V. Chesley Hayward (Gilbert). Also surviving are four grandchildren, Lorene and Stephen Chesley and Jarreau and Jeremie Hayward; two sisters, Louise Washington and Geraldine Chesley; a brother, Francis Chesley (Phyllis), brothers-in-law, Walter Alexander and Alton Stuckey, sister-in-law, Lionella Houser and a host of relatives and friends.

Viewing, 4 to 9pm, Prayers 7:30pm, Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland and on Friday, August 24, 2012 from 10am until the Mass of Christian Burial, 11am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 30 Mattingly Avenue, Indian Head, Maryland.
