Luna Mae Parker, 97, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., April 16, 2013, at Bellmead Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m., April 17, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Waco Memorial Park.
Luna Mae was born in Gatesville, Texas, to the late Thomas L. and Birdie (Brookshire) Shafer. She was a homemaker and a member of Timbercrest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odus R. Parker on August 7, 1988; daughters, Joyce Martin on June 28, 2004, and Sandra Dearen Hogeland on August 8, 2006.
Survivors include her daughter, Flossie Mae Fountain, of Florida; sons, Lermon Parker and wife, Odette, of CA, and Gail Parker and wife, Rose, of Waco; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Blanch Thrasher and husband, Dick, of Ft. Worth; brother, Thomas Shafer Jr., of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
