She married Murrel Cochran on June 25, 1936, in Humboldt County, Iowa. They soon made their home in Oxford, Johnson County, Iowa, where they purchased a cafe in 1941. Adelaide was well known as a good cook, and they went into the cafe business.
Murrel was a lifetime livestock dealer, and later, he and son bought the Oxford Sale Barn.
Murrel and Adelaide had two children: Bobby and Carol Jean, and were long time members of the Oxford Methodist Church.
Murrel died in 1999; Adelaide survived him and joined him in 2018.
