Margaret Spurr Armstrong -

Wolfville - Margaret Spurr Armstrong, 78, Wolfville, died Monday, Dec. 9, 1991 in St. Vincent's Guest House, Halifax. Born in Torbrook Mines, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late William Voorheis and Lola (Woodward) Spurr. She attended Horton Academy at Acadia University. She was a former employee of the Department of Agriculture (Apple Maggot Control Board), Middleton, and registrar's office at Acadia University. She was an avid reader and communicated her love of knowledge to her family. She was a dedicated parent and grandparent whose love and devotion were exemplary. She is survived by one daughter, Dr. Janet M. Eaton and son-in-law Dr. Peter Eaton, Halifax; one sister, Mrs. Joyce Christianson, Dartmouth; one brother, Philip, Weston-Super-Mare, England; two granddaughters, Keshena and Samara. She was predeceased by a brother, George; a sister, Jean. The body has been cremated. A memorial service was held Dec. 15 from the Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Rev. William McLeod officiating, with burial of ashes in the Torbrook Mines United Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
