Memorial service were hold Monday may 4,1970 at 10:00 a.m. for Liburna Lethe Lambert McChesney at D.W.Newcomer's Sons Chapel in North Kansas City,Missouri. Officiating was the Rev. Roy S. Dinkins of the First Baptist Church in North Kansas City. Interment was in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Kansas City North. She passed away on April 30,1970 at Trinity Lutheran Hospital where she had undergone open heart surgery on April 22,1970. Liburna Lethe Lambert was born on October 26,1927,the second daughter of Jennings DeVere Lambert and Sarah Mildred (Glines) Lambert near Warsaw,Missouri. She lived thoughout her childhood years in the Spring Grove-Schuyler communities.She attended Grade school at Pleasant Grove and Lincoln Elementary Schools. She graduated from Lincoln Missouri High School in the class of 1946. Upon graduation,she became an employee with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in the accounting department in Kansas City,Missouri where she completed nearly 24 years of service. On September 10,1949 she was united in marriage to Jack Erwin McChesney of Corning,New York. To this union was born one son, James DeVere of the home,3835 North Walnut,Kansas City ,Missouri. In addition to her husband and son, survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs Jennings DeVere Lambert of Cross Timbers,Missouri, and two sisters, Mrs George E. (Leona) Suchet Jr., 4516 N.W.50th terr., Kansas City,Missouri and Mrs. Luther (LaVera) Franklin, 2207 Royal Oaks Drive,Irving,Texas, a niece,Donna Franklin and a nephew s Wayne Franklin also of Irving,Texas and many aunts,uncles, and cousins,many of whom reside in the Warsaw,Lincoln,Windsor, and Clinton communities.Due to ill heath for several years,her life activities were limited to her home and family, and her employment. For many years,she was an active member of the Young Women's Christian Association of Kansas City and served in volunteer capacities. She was also a member of the Communications Workers of America Local 6323 and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Her family and friends will remember her cheerfulness and her willingness to be ever helpful even though her health did place limitations on the things she could do . She was a devoted wife,mother,daughter, and sister, and is sadly missed by all.
