Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in the same area where many of my ancestral families lived for generations. I have recently retired, & have been working on several family histories. I am entering records on my families and their extended families, as well as records from local cemeteries. My goal is to place records on-line to enable entended family members to find their relatives. If I have entered information on your family, please let me know & I will be happy to transfer them to you unless they are my direct ancestors. I have been delighted to hear from others who are related to my families as well.

Brenda Anderson
Anderson family
Looking for the tombstone of Alen Anderson who died as an infant. His brother was Noel Leon Anderson and their parents were Gertrude and Stanley Anderson. Trying to get pics of the family members and any info I can so that I can give it as a gift. Anything would be great. There was also a family bible that was lost some time ago that the family would lovew to find.
Thank you so much,
Brenda Anderson

RE: Do you know WHO this might be?
There are several Jesse Grays in the Jefferson/Switzerland County area, but I believe this one is Harriet Byron Gray b. 14 Jul 1826 Virginia d. 14 Jan 1887 Madison, Jefferson, Indiana. Her son, Hayden, listed her last name as Fagg on his marriage application dated 12 Apr 1910. I hope I haven't muddied the water for you, Michele

Do you know WHO this might be?
The Sun newspaper, Brooksburg, IN
Thursday 20 January 1887; Front Page, Column 5

Mrs. Jesse Gray, living on Pleasant Ridge, drowned herself in the cistern at the barn last Friday night. This is the third attempt Mrs. Gray had made to take her own life.

Her mind had been unsound for some time, and, as she had threatened self-destruction, her husband and children had kept a close watch on her actions. But she eluded their vigilance Friday night.

She was missed about 9 o'clock and search was immediately commenced for her. After looking in vain for several hours, the cistern at the barn was thought of, and about daylight her dead body was found in it.

----------

Later editions of the paper did not have any further obituary.
