I started doing genealogy very early in elementary school, being fortunate to have 2 of my great-grandparents, 2 step-great-grandparents, all my grandparents and numerous elderly uncles and aunts alive at that time. I do it in waves, sometimes leaving it alone for months and then coming back later adding information to my growing database in different ways.
