I was born August 29, 1943 in Powell, Wyoming. I joined the US Navy in 1963 and spent 2 years in Southeast Asia in the Philippines and Vietnam. I then attended the U of Colorado for a year and a half under the NESEP program and was then transfered to Europe for 4 years, stationed at Rota, Spain. After that I was sent to Washington D.C. for 4 years. At that time I retired and attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, where I attained a BS in Mortuary Science. I owned and operated two funeral homes, one in Moline, Kansas, and the other in Sedan, Kansas, for 26 years. I retired from the business in 2001. I am currently residing in Wichita, Kansas, and am an accountant for Wal Mart Corp.
I am married, the father of two daughters. I have traced my ancestry back several centuries and am still in the process of chasing down my brickwalls.
As a former funeral director, I find cemeteries fascinating and love to contemplate past lives and histories of the families there.
I am more than happy to make corrections and add relationship links but am curtailing (not stopping) transferring memorials due to growing misunderstanding of what Find A Grave is about by those discovering the site for the first time. The time members have put into their efforts working together and sharing information is not up for grabs based on same-name surname or lineage and I will not do any of these type of transfers.
Steers Family Hi Del- My name is Greg Center from Dallas, Texas. My mother has spent years putting our family genealogy together, so I was working on my step grandmother Pauline "Steers" Bridenstine. My mom's information was quite helpful with all of the Steer family. I was able to hook the parents with the children, along with all of the death and birth locations. Noah & Chloe had 6 children, and only 3 of them married, and one of the six is buried in Guthrie, Oklahoma. I tied him to the parents and siblings as well. Hopefully I will find some photos and submit them in the days to come. Thanks for all of your hard work and have a good weekend.
Our major connection to this memorial is location. We also live in Derby. Thanks also for the note about no grave stone. I will get the location and flowers will be left over Memorial Day. We visit this cemetery for others.
May I please I am from Tulsa Ok at present we live at Blackwell and Ponca City in Kay County for almost 27 years then when my husband retired we moved to Tulsa to be close to his dad and be helpful to him at a moments notice he will be 91 this year and his caretaker whom he is with right now has just turned 96...so time is fleeting and precious. I love ancestry and I dearly love Find A Grave- May I out notice to you and links to find a grave date when memorial was made and copy pics and post to name sake when find one we are kin to-if not kinship I will not do it. I have found some Malone's and Gordon's kinship to my 96 year old friend. thank you kindly and thanks for all you are doing. Kat Bleeker
RE: photos I have checked with the sexton at Clinton Cemetery in Oklahoma. They have no record of a Willis Bammerlin and there is no Oklahoma connection in the obit. I suspect Clinton Neb. in Sheridan county may have a cemetery that is a better candidate for his resting place.
RE: photos That message was a mistake. It was the wrong grave. However, on the unphotographed grave, there is no record in the county cemetery book of this burial. I will check with the sexton when I have a chance. Are you sure it was in Clinton, OK? As for Ralph Gholston, he is listed both as Ralph Peach and Ralph Gholston. Since the neighboring grave in the Gholston plot is for Ora Peach, I was not certain whether his name was Gholston or if he married Ora Gholston Peach. Both also are listed by the surname Peach in the book and on the website.
