Kathryn Weber born June 1878 to William Weber (France) and Katrina "Kathryn" Birckenburch (Germany) in Pekin, Tazwell, Illinois. She was aged 2 on the 1880 census.

After the death of her sister Louise L. Weber Hobbs, she married the widower Edwin Adrian Hobbs (her brother-in-law) on Sunday 23 March 1919 in Pekin, Tazewell, Illinois. This was noted in the April 1919 denominational publication: "Illinois Baptist Bulletin."

He was pastor of a church in Pekin in 1920. In Jan 1918 Edwin and her sister Louise L. Weber Hobbs were in Eau Claire, Wis. Her sister Louise, died of a stroke 6 weeks after the birth of Kathryn Jane Hobbs (named after the two grandmothers-Kathryn Weber and Jane Wilson Hobbs). She raised her two nieces.

On the 1900 census she gave her birth as June 1878 in IL. Kathryn was matron at the Hudleson Baptist orphanage in 1910 in Irvington, Washington, Illinois when she was still single. She was fondly referred to as "Aunt Kate." Her sister in 1905 was also working at this same orphanage until her marriage in 1910 to Edwin.

She died in Yamhill, Oregon in June 1933. Her birth listed on the grave index for this cemetery has 1879-1933 but her brother was born Nov 1879 and her birth should be June 1878.
