Funeral services for Margurea Shepard Burns, 92, of Belton will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Belton Church of Christ with Ministers Joe Baisden and Bob Shepard officiating. Burial will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Burns died Sunday evening at a Temple Long Term Care home.

Mrs. Burns was born in Coryell County, the daughter of Arthur and Laura (Marshall) Bay. She was a graduate of Killeen High School. She lived in Plainview where she farmed until moving back to central Texas in 1976. She married Buck Burns August 1, 1970 in Plainview. She was a member of the Belton Church of Christ.

Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Theron Shepard, in 1969; one daughter, Donna Beth Sanford, grandson, Micha Theron Shepard, brother Bennie Bay and one sister Treva Brown.

Survivors include her husband Buck Burns of Belton, two sons Bob Shepard and wife Linda of Canyon and Joel Shepard and wife Phyllis of Telephone; two daughters Laurel Shepard of Mesquite and Kathy Nichols and husband Rob of New Braunfels; step children, Milton Burns of Belton, Eddie Burns of Oklahoma City, OK and Mike Burns of Oklahoma City, OK, Mary LeAnn Stiles of Lake Elsinora, CA and Bobbie Burns Calvin of Temecula, CA; two brothers Cleo Bay and wife Glynnis, Curtis Bay and wife Margaret of Salado; one sister Laura Ellen Sinclair and husband Bill of Devine and sister-in-law Caroline Bay of Belton. 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
