Martha's third husband was John D. Taylor. They were married about 1885. On 12 May 1834, John D. Taylor was born in Lowndes County, Alabama, and he died about 1896 in Union Parish, Louisiana. Martha and John had twins William Earl and Minnie Pearl Taylor. The twins were born in 1886 in Louisiana.
James Norris, Mattie's grandfather, was in the War of 1812. Two of Mattie's ancestors are documented Daughters of the American Revolution soldiers and patriots. The DAR ancestors are Josiah Norris and James Patrick.
