Joseph S. Buresh was born December 5, 1937, in Jones County, Iowa, son of Joseph F. and Francis (Vacek) Buresh. He married Joyce Conklin on November 3, 1995 in Quincy, Illinois. He farmed all of his life in the Oxford Junction area and was a horse breeder and trainer, retiring in 2002. He was a lifetime member of Palomino Horse Breeders Association, and G.A.S.H.A., and had a horse in PHBA hall of fame.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Joyce Buresh of Oxford Junction; three sons, Joseph L. (Rhonda) Buresh of Annawan, Illinois, Lawrence (JoSandra) Buresh of Denver, Colorado, and Jeff (Kimberly) Buresh of Marengo; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, his parents and two brothers.
