Sarah Elizabeth "Bessie" Harp, 84, of Berryville died on January 13, 1972 at Madison County Hospital in Huntsville. She was born on May 13, 1887 near Eureka Springs, a daughter of Elijah Daniel and Rebecca Jane (Smith) Foster. She was united in marriage to James Monroe Harp on December 25, 1907 and to this union nine children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Chester Harp, Daniel Harp, and James Harp; her daughters, Ada Ethel Haley and Elsie Fay Littrell; and her brothers, James Allen Foster, Riley Alexander Foster, and William Clarence Foster. She is survived by her husband, James; her sons, Delbert Summers Harp and Noel Elbert Harp, both of Berryville, and Boyd Rachael Harp and Lloyd Achel Harp, both of Springdale; her brother, Jesse Alfred Foster of Huntsville; her sisters, Fannie Paralee Miller of Huntsville and Mary Emmaline Wallace of Exeter, Missouri; twenty three grandchildren; sixty three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Nelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Interment was in Lower Campground Cemetery.
