"Funeral service for Mrs. Eldra Barrett, 68, for many years a Long Beach resident and mother of Courtney Randolph (aka: Eula Barrett Clemmer), Long Beach author, was conducted at 2 p.m. today in Neel's Memorial Chapel, Compton. Interment was in Sunnyside Memorial Park.
Mrs. Barrett, 7049 Compton Blvd., Compton, died Friday night in St. Francis Hospital, Lynwood. She was born in Madisonville, Texas and moved to Long Beach, in 1923.
Surviving are the widower, James W. Barrett of the Compton address, and six children; Mrs. Silas Clemmer, known professionally as Courtney Randolph, 1828 E. Broadway, Leroy Barrett, 1231 Appleton St., Mrs. Myrtle Evans of Manteca, Calif., Mrs. Fern Dickinson of Las Vegas, Nev., Randolph Barrett of San Pedro and Gary Barrett of Buena Park; six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren."
