Franklin M. Dannels

Malta - Funeral services were held for Franklin Marshall Dannels, 83, the father of Mrs. C. K. (Elsie) Fewer of Malta. Dannels was a retired city of Havre employee, who had lived in Malta the last several years.

He was born at Bucklin, Mo. He moved to Hill county, Montana, in 1917, from Altoona, Kan., farming north of Havre until 1929. In 1929 Dannels moved to Havre and took a job hauling coal for a local company until 1940, when he was hired by the city. He retired from this position in 1947, at which time he moved to Malta to live with his daughter.

For the past eight years he had lived at the county rest home. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors are three sons, Maurice and Franklin Jr. of Great Falls, and Paul of Havre; two daughters, Mrs. M. F. (Annavieve) Bailey of La Porte, Ind., and Mrs. Fewer; two brothers, 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. His wife, Minnie, died in 1946.
