Local Misfits Band member Eulus Clayton, 89, of Paris died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Henry County Medical Center.

His wife, Evalee Hudson Clayton, survives. They were married on Aug. 16, 1946.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Michael Key will officiate. Burial will follow in Bevil Cemetery.

Chosen as pallbearers are Jeremiah and Joe Clayton, Christopher Judd, Tracy Taylor, Tracy Taylor Jr. and John Dale Conger.

Great-grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after noon Tuesday.

Born Oct. 6, 1922, in Henry County, he was a son of the late Robert Johnson Clayton and Noba Barnhill Green, and the stepson of the late Scott Green.

Clayton was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. A World War II veteran, he received numerous medals along with four Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. In addition to The Misfits band, he played in several other local bands, performing for local nursing homes.

He also leaves a daughter: Donna (Tommy) Judd of Paris; two sons: Tommy (Martha) Clayton and Gerald (Joanie) Clayton, both of Paris; one sister: Geneva Conger of Paris;

Seven grandchildren: Melissa (Michael) Key, Fonda (Tracy) Taylor, Dustin Clayton, Angela Tate, Jeremiah Clayton and Chris and Amanda Judd, all of Paris; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He also was preceded in death by four brothers: Ellis, J.D. and Elisha Clayton and Benny Joe Green; and one grandchildren.
