Mr. Gerald C. Clayton, age 73 of Paris, Tennessee passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
His funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 9, 2024 with Michael Key to officiate.
Burial will follow the service in Bevil Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Cody Tate, Kamron Howard, Xaviar Howard, Jesse Nolan, Chris Judd, Jonathan Lowe, Aaron Key and Alex Key.
Visitation is scheduled at McEvoy from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday and again on Saturday after 9:00 A.M. until time of service.
Gerald Clayton was born July 3,1950 in Paris, Tennessee to the late Eulus B. Clayton and the late Evalee Hudson Clayton.
He married Joanie Coe Clayton on June 23, 1978 and she preceded him in death on July 10, 2013.
Gerald is survived by his daughter, Angela Tate of Paris; grandchildren, Allison (Jesse) Nolan, Cody (Lexi) Tate, Kamron Howard, Xaviar Howard, Emily Taylor, Timothy Hutcherson, Natalia Hutcherson, Shiqura Hutcherson, Kaleana Barker, and Preston Hutcherson; great grandchildren, Colson Adams, Channing Adams, Rowan Nolan, and Rhyeland King; sister, Donna (Tommy) Judd of Paris; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
Besides his parents and wife, Gerald is also preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Clayton.
Mr. Clayton enjoyed his model trains and model cars. He was said to be a really good singer and loved to participate in karaoke. Gerald was a member of the McDonald's breakfast gang and dearly loved gathering and eating with them daily. He was an awesome cook who was also a very caring father and grandfather.
