Donna Hawkins Sherman, 81, of Chittenango, passed away peacefully Wednesday. Born in Syracuse, Donna was a 1948 graduate of Manlius High School. She resided in Manlius before moving to Chittenango in 1985. Donna began her career as a sales associate in 1980 at Sibley's, continued through the merger with Kaufmann's and later Macy's before retiring in 2007. She was a former member of Manlius United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth L. Sherman III, and her brother, Edwin G. Hawkins. Survivors: a daughter, Eileen Locke and her husband, Raymond of Syracuse; two sons, Mark of Chittenango and Kevin and his wife, Elke of Iphofen, Germany; five grandchildren, Kevin (Maria), Mark, Kammylynn (Nathan) Hefner, Matthew and Jennifer; and a great-granddaughter, Sierra. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , CNY Chapter, 441 Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
