Edwin G. Hawkins, 71, of Westbrook Hills Drive died Saturday at Community-General Hospital.
Mr. Hawkins was a native of Syracuse and lived in Manlius, Earlville and North Hampton, N.H.. He moved back to Syracuse in 1986.
Mr. Hawkins retired in 1985 as an electronic design engineer for Data General of Port Smith, N.H. After retirement he worked for Burns International Securities.
Mr. Hawkins was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 236 of Earlville, and district commissioner of the Tuscarora District Madison Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Surviving are his wife, Jean G.; a daughter, Patricia J. Hoyt of Norwich; two sons, Roger D. of Albuquerque, N.M., and Rick D. of Syracuse; a sister, Donna H. Sherman of Chittenango; seven grandchildren; two nephews and a niece.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt, the Rev. Earl Smith officiating.
