Mrs. Cornelia Ivanette Wyatt Doggins, 103, of Caret, died Monday, November 26, 2012.

Cornelia was born October 5, 1909 to the late Richard Wilbur Wyatt and Eva Powell Wyatt of Middlesex County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle Howerton Doggins; two children, Thomas Wilbur Doggins and Eva Frances Doggins; brother, Lionel Wilbur Wyatt: and sister-in-law, Edith Mansfield Byrd Wyatt.

She graduated from Church View High School in 1928, attended Fredericksburg State Teachers College (now Mary Washington University) for two years and received a normal professional teacher's certificate.

Mrs. Doggins taught 3rd and 4th grades in Lloyds School in Essex County.

She was a member of Upper Essex Baptist Church, where she directed the choir and men's chorus for many years.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Doggins of Yorktown; three nieces, Deborah Wyatt Upton, Victoria Wyatt Bunch and Rebecca Wyatt Moscoso; and one nephew, Richard Lionel Wyatt.

Funeral services were held at 11am on Thursday, November 29, 2012, in Upper Essex Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends following the service in the social hall at the church.
