Minor Lee Guthrie, age 71, of Scottsboro passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 at his home.
Visitation was held Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro. Funeral services were held Monday, December 19, 2011 from the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tim Rayburn officiating. Interment followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Guthrie is survived by son, Anthony (Amy) Guthrie; daughters, Renae (Jamie) Ward and Rhonda Guthrie; brother, Nathan Geckels; sisters, Pat Webster and Ruby Swafford; grandchildren, Conswaila and Jeff Holland, Angela and Dustin Evans, Brandon Haynes, Tiffany and Tristan Guthrie, Aleidra and Jerry Smith, Alex Ward, Zack Ward and Britney Ward Davis, Megan Gilliam, Amanda Guthrie, Jenna and Jayme Guthrie; and great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Nevaeh Holland, Noah Haynes and Amiryah Evans and Tavey Smith.
Mr. Guthrie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alice Guthrie; his beloved wife, Barbara Jean; and son Jason.
Mr. Guthrie was a U. S. Army Veteran and was retired from the city of Scottsboro Street Deparment where he was a foreman.
