Mrs. Ruby Jewel Swafford, age 72 of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her home.

On October 1, 1948 God blessed this world with a precious jewel named Ruby. She was the best daughter, mother, niece, cousin, Nanny, Grand Nan, best friend, and sister in Christ. She was a workaholic and always willing to help anyone with anything. She was also a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Voss and Rev. Pete Hess officiating. Burial will follow in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Scottsboro Funeral Home.

Mrs. Swafford was loved by many and will be greatly missed by many, including her daughter, Sharon Franks; son, Roy Swafford (Sandra); grandchildren, Hanna Rutherford (Justin), Jacqueline Franks, Trey Jones, Casey Norden (John), and Hunter Reaves (Jamie); great grandchildren, Beau Rutherford, Cooper Rutherford, Christian Franks, Samuel Knopps, Charlie Norden, Josey Norden, Cade Norden, and John Parker Reaves; brother-in-law, Tom Swafford (Doris); special niece, Brenda Swafford; special cousin, Della Hall; special friend and neighbor, Robert and Linda O'neal; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Glenn Swafford; son-in-law, Jackie Franks; and her parents, Pomp & Annie Crabtree Guthrie.
