Mr. B.F. Carnes of the Sewellton section died at his home on last Saturday, October 3. He had been in ill health for some considerable time and had several periods of hospitalization. He was 79 years of age.

A son of the late Joe and Eliza Wooldridge Carnes, he leaves his wife, Mrs. Linnie Carnes, and seven sons and a daughter -- Bradley, Hobert, Marshall, and Logan Carnes, all of Jamestown, Kentucky, Elmer and Joe Carnes of Nashville, Dr. Lawrence Carnes of Cincinnati, and Mrs. Ruth Grider of Jamestown.

There are 14 grandchildren, as well as three brothers and two sisters -- Stanley Carnes of Russell Springs, Chester and Walter Carnes of Jamestown, and Mrs. Aletha Rogers and Mrs. Charley Ray (Chena) Winfrey of Russell Springs.

Funeral services were held in the Freedom Christian Church where Mr. Carnes had been a faithful member for some sixty years, conducted by Bro. H.B. Popplewell on Monday morning. Burial was in Bethel Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ed Carnes, Walter Lee Carnes, Charlie Rogers, Floyd Carnes, Edmon Carnes, and Merlin Carnes. H.E. Pruitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
