Final Rites Held for Frank Rutledge at Local Church
Frank V. Rutledge, Madill, died Saturday of injuries received in the
Madill oil field when a "finger" off the pipe rack broke, fell about 80
feet, and struck him on the back of the head. Rutledge was in a
stooping position at the time, setting the pipe tongs, when hit. He
lived about an hour after the accident, attendants said.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church here at 2 o'clock
Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Wade East conducting.
Rutledge, who came here about five years ago from Walters, OK, had been
engaged in oil field work for several years and had been employed in the
fields here while residing in Madill.
Immediate survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nobie Rutledge; three
children, Travis and Robert Rutledge, Madill, and Mrs. Katie Lou Rood,
CA; three grandchildren and three brothers.
Burial was at Madill Legion Cemetery.
