Central Square, Jan. 21. — Dr. William H. Conterman, one of the best known men in this section, died suddenly at his home Saturday.


Doctor Conterman was born in West Monroe, February 20, 1862. He was educated in Central Square academy, attended Albany Medical college and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1886. He had practiced his profession In Cleveland and Turin, and for 32 years had been a practitioner here.


He was a member and past president of the Oswego County Medical society, the New York State Sanitary Officers' association, the Fort Brewerton lodge of Masons and for 24 years president of the local board of education. He was one of the founders of the First National bank and a vice-president since its organization in 1912. For 15 years he served the town of Hastings as health officer.


Dr. Conterman is survived by his wife, Lottie; three sons, Dr. Frank Conterman of Ilion, Fred Conterman of Syracuse and Dr. Donald Conterman of Oneida; one brother. E. T. Conterman of Central Square; one
sister, Mrs. L. S. Shaver of Clay, and one granddaughter.
