Son of Frederick Birkenholz and Anna (Bosch) Bush Birkenholz.
He married Eliza Janet Neal March 13, 1884 in Maryville, Missouri.
Lee Birkenholz of Pickering is Dead
Pioneer Resident of the County Succombs at His Home at 2 o'clock This Afternoon.
Lee Birkenholz, age 69, died at 2 o'clock this afternoon at his home near Pickering. He had been ill since May of cancer of the lungs. No funeral arrangements had been made this afternoon.
He was born in Jasper County, Iowa. Mr. Birkenholz moved to Nodaway County in 1880 locating near Parnell. He moved to the farm where he died in 1884.
He was married to Eliza J. Neal of Pickering in 1884. She and seven children survive. They are J. F. of Donald, Wisconsin; and W. T. of Dupree, South Dakota; Charles and Jewell of Pickering, Mrs. Oscar Pugsley, of Maryville,; Mrs. Andrew Hansen of Conception; and Mrs. Owen Ringold of Pickering. One brother, William Birkenholz of Parnell, and the following sisters survive; Mrs. Lafe Stamper, Mrs. Katie Lowe, and Mrs. Paul Carpenter of Maryville, Mrs. Carrie Taylor of Edessa, California, and Mrs. Anna Hubbell, Los Angeles, California.
