From his obituary: Robert Macklin died at 2am at his home in Trionda. He was of Scottish parentage, James Macklin of Glasgow, Scotland and Elizabeth MacKane. Robert was a carpenter by trade and had lived in the area for about 20 years. He was "highly respected because of his excellent character and business integrity".
