Stuart T. Sheehan, 70, of Peoria, formerly of Springfield, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

He was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Springfield, the son of James and Grace Stewart Sheehan. He married Margaret "Peggy" Hergenrother in 1955 in New Berlin.

Mr. Sheehan was owner and treasurer of Common Equipment, retiring in 1984. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Air Force, a member of the third degree Knights of Columbus No. 364 in Springfield, Mount Hawley Country Club in Peoria and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria, where he served on the finance committee. He also served as a volunteer driver for the Red Cross and was on the board of directors of Guardian Angels Children's Home in Peoria.

Survivors: wife, Peggy; two daughters, Mrs. Steve (Carol) Pappas of St. Charles, Mo., and Mrs. Jim (Marian) Calhoun of Inverness; a son, Kevin (wife, Jana) Sheehan of Peoria; and seven grandchildren.

Services: Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the Rev. Frank O'Hara officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
