John was the son of Simon John and Betty Jean (Nation) Gondol. He grew up in the Flint area and was employed for a short while with Fisher Body before moving to Fife Lake. John worked for Avon Corporation as a miterer for 31 years. In 1998, John moved to Cadillac and married his wife Phyllis on June 23 of that year. John was a loving family man. In his leisure time, John enjoyed hunting, playing his guitar, fishing and camping with his family.
John is survived by his wife Phyllis; children, Karrie Jean Gondol and Simon John Gondol; step-children, Lori Emery, Wade Peterson and Wendy Renwick; 6 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; brother, Roger Gondol.
John is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ruth Ann Gondol and step-son, Billy Clark.
