Mrs. Mayme Adelaide Hartman, 50, 2621 Avenue M. died at her home this morning at 8:25 o'clock. She had been ill only a few days.
Mrs. Hartman was born December 6, 1886. When four years of age she went to Park River, N.D., with her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koestner, later moving to Burlington, Iowa where she resided until nine years ago when she came to Lee county to live. She made her home both in Montrose and in Fort Madison where she has resided the past six years.
Mrs. Hartman was married to Fred W. Hartman in Burlington, Iowa, October 3, 1902. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church.
Surviving are her husband; her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koestner, Burlington; three sons, Floyd H. Hartman and Edwin C. Hartman, Fort Madison, and Fay W. Hartman, Burlington; one daughter, Evelyn Lorraine Hartman, Fort Madison; one brother, Joseph H. Johnston, Kansas City, Mo.; two sister, Mrs. Alice Troxel, Alhamber, Calif., and Mrs. John A. Schaus, Mankato, Minn.; three foster brothers, Dick Koestner, Tulsa, Okla.; one foster sister, Mrs. Louise Hutchison, Keokuk and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock from Sacred Heart church, Rev. Leo S. Roling, officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove cemetery, Burlington, Iowa.
Rosary services will be held in the Clements chapel Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock.
