Mrs. Janet Moon Cowart, 83, died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Cowart was born August 2, 1924 to Harvey and Cleo Sherrod Moon in Swainsboro, Georgia. She was a Baptist, came to Jacksonville in 1938, a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School class of 1942 and retired from Wooten Fiber Co. after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 24 years: Miles Raymond Cowart and sisters: Lois Kelly and Barbara Middleton. Survivors include a sister: Edith (Buddy) Trantham of Jacksonville; 3 brothers: William J. (Alice) Moon of Miami Springs, FL, George Moody (Teresa) Eidson of Murphy, North Carolina and Rev. H. Daniel (Francis) Eidson of Tifton, Georgia; step-son: M. Raymond (Carmen) Cowart, II of Jacksonville and many nephews, nieces and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in the North Jacksonville Chapel of PEEPLES FAMILY FUNERAL HOMES, 2220 Soutel Drive near Lem Turner Rd., with Rev. H. Dan Eidson officiating. Pallbearers will be her nephews Daniel Eidson, Tony Middleton, Lance Trantham, James Carter, Joseph Middleton and Tres Trantham. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday (TODAY) at the funeral home.
