Laid to rest in her nightgown behind the wheel of her light-blue 1964 Ferrari 250GT. The heiress, widow of Texas oil millionaire, Ike West, was a wealthy 37 year old Beverly Hills socialite, and left most of her $3 million estate to her brother, provided he made sure she was buried in her favorite lace nightgown and inside her Ferrari, with the seat slanted comfortably. The Ferrari was surrounded with concrete so no one would be tempted to dig it up and drive away.

Sandra West was a Beverly Hills socialite. She was married to the Texas oil tycoon, Ike West (August 29, 1934- January 5, 1968) who died leaving Sandra with over 5 million dollars.

When she died in 1977 due to a drug overdose, presumably stemming from a prior automobile accident, her will stated that she should be buried inside her Ferrari "with the seat slanted comfortably."

The will provided that Sol West (brother of her late husband) would receive $2,000,000 if her wishes were carried out; if not, he would get $10,000.

After going to court to try to get out of it, which required a two-month temporary burial, Sol West complied with West's burial request. The car and West were encased in a box measuring 10 feet (3.0 m) wide by 9 feet (2.7 m) deep by 19 feet (5.8 m) long, which was hauled to the grave site at the Alamo Masonic Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on a flatbed truck and interred in a hole nine feet deep; after burial, a redi-mix truck encased the box in concrete. The simple grave marker does not give a clue to what is underneath.
