Funeral of a Well-known Woman

Watertown, May 3,-The funeral of Mrs. Harriet Allen, a well-known resident of Henderson, was held from the home of Capt. Mitchell H. Clark in that village Saturday. She was the widow of William J. Allen and the mother of Mrs. Clark at whose home she passed away. About five weeks ago, she fell and broke her hip and from then on was confined to her bed. She was born in the town of Henderson, in 1833 and her entire life had been spent there. She is survived by the following children; Charles Lee Allen, Walter Amos Allen, both of Henderson; William Oristis Allen and Herbert Joseph Allen, both of Smithville; Franklen Brown Allen of Sackets Harbor; Mrs. Harriet Delia Stanley and Mrs. Clara Helen Clark, both of Henderson. She had been a member of the M. E. Church for half a century and possessed a host of friends who will keenly regret her demise.
