Services for Helen Smith Harrigill, 74, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lou Knighton officiating. Burial will be at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. Mrs. Harrigill was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Natchez, the daughter of Philip and Bessie Halford Smith. She was a member of Lovely Lane Methodist Church. Mrs. Harrigill was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Harrigill Sr.; and a grandson, Bill Welsh Jr. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Elaine and Ford Curry of Jackson, Linda and Kenneth Whitam and Baton Rouge, La.; one son, Charles Harrigill and his wife, Kathy of Natchez; two daughters, Carolyn O'Beirne of Natchez and Melody Fuqua and her husband, Carl of Vidalia, La.; 12 grandchildren, Dean and Richard Curry and Anne C. Stubblefield, both of Jackson, Neil Whitam of Albany, La., Dana Bennett of Denham Springs, La., Melissa Maiello of Cleburne, Texas, Joshua Burke and John O'Beirne of Natchez, Charlie and Robert Harrigill of Mobile, Ala., Chad and Lindsey Fuqua of Vidalia; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Philip and Christine Smith and Charles and Ruth Smith, all of Natchez. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Robert Harrigill, Charles Harrigill III, Neil Whitam, Joshua Burke, Dean Curry, Richard Curry, Chad Fuqua and John O'Beirne. Honorary pallbearer will be Doug Ballard.
