Owen "Bill" Bailey, 67, 1016 Green, died Friday at a Topeka hospital where he was admitted Wednesday.
He was born Jan. 29, 1911, at Howard, the son of Herman and Sylvia (Brown) Bailey. He moved to Topeka from Havensville in 1930. He lived in Denver from 1959 until 1973 when he moved back to Topeka.
He was employed as a buyer for office supplies and equipment. He was a member of Havensville United Methodist Church.
He was married to Evelyn V. Aaron June 14, 1934, in Lawrence. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Alvin Bailey, Layton, Utah, and Ronald Bailey, Alamogordo, N.M.; his mother, Mrs. Sylvia Bailey, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Wanda Smith, Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Havensville Cemetery. Mr. Bailey will lie in state after noon Monday at Tibbitts-Griffins Highland Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
