Evelyn Vione Bailey, 85, Topeka, died Wednesday, August 4, 1999, at a Topeka health care center.
She was born August 28, 1913, in Bennett, Nebraska, the daughter of Roy and Bessie A. (McCalmant) Aaron. She had lived in Coal Creek, Colorado and Canon City, Colorado, before moving to Topeka.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church of Topeka.
She married Owen Leon "Bill" Bailey in Topeka. He died June 9, 1978. She also was preceded in death by a son Ronald Leon Bailey in December, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Alvin L. Bailey, Vernal, Utah; two sisters, Mildred "Millie" Blodgett and Bette A. Tyler, both of Topeka; a brother Alford Aaron, Carbondale; six grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Graveside services were at 3:00 p.m. at the Havensville Kansas Cemetery. Mrs. Bailey will lie in state after 11 a.m. Sunday at Parker-Price Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
