Anna Filinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Filinger, was born December 15, 1853, in ????? near Prague, Czechoslovakia, and departed this life November 5, 1942, at the home of her daughter in Almena at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 23 days.
When 14 she sailed with her parents, two sisters and two brothers to America and settled in Muscoda, Wis. She was united in marriage to Wesley Washichek and four children were born to this union. Her husband and one daughter, Anna Christine, preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Wesley H. and Joseph F., Fort Collins, Colo., one daughter, Rose Mary Wiruth of Almena, two brothers, Joe and John Filinger of Cuba, two sister, Mrs. Frances Peterka of Cuba and Mrs. Josie Horak of Munden, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
