Michael S. Svirbly Sr.
Michael S. Svirbly Sr., 1149 George St. Extension, Sharon, died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday (11-14-78) in South Side Unit of Youngstown Hospital following a brief illness. He was 57.
Mr. Svirbly was born in Anita, Pa., Jan 11, 1921, to Joseph and Mary Stoffan Svirbly.
He was employed at the Sharon Transformer Division, Westinghouse Electric Corp., serving as a group leader in the Z building.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, and the Westinghouse Veterans Association.
During World War II, he served with the Navy.
Surviving are his wife, the former Susan A. Schell, whom he married Nov. 15, 1940; two daughters, Susan at home, and Mrs. Eugene (Veronica) Davidson, Hermitage; a son, Michael S. Svirbly Jr., Erie, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Betty) Mader and Mrs. Anna Shemansky, both of Sharon, and Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Hynes, El Paso, Texas; three brothers, John, Sharon; George, Youngstown, and Joseph, Farrell, and four grandchildren.
A brother Andrew, preceded him in death.

Funeral mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, with Monsignor John B. Hagerty, pastor, as celebrant.
Burial in St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
Friends may call at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
