Susan A. Schell Svirbly Winger of Sharon passed away peacefully of natural causes at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday (9-23-15) in her residence. She was 94.
Mrs. Winger was born July 25, 1921, in Sharon, a daughter of Leon and Alice Porterfield Schell.
She was raised in Sharon and attended Sharon schools.
Mrs. Winger was of the Catholic faith.
A homemaker, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In her early years, Susan loved to bake and will be remembered for her delicious cakes and cookies.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, doing crafts and trying her luck at bingo and the lottery.
She retired from the former Roemer Industries where she was a drill press operator.
Her first husband, Michael Svirbly Jr., passed away. She is survived by her second husband, Burton B. Winger; a son, Michael Svirbly Jr. and his wife Geraldine, Erie; a daughter, Veronica Dots, Bel Air, Md.; her grandchildren, Lorrie Szablewski, Eugene Davidson, Thea Jordan and Stephen Davidson; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Allshouse and Priscilla Schell; three brothers, Frank Schell and his wife Jane; and Charles Schell and his wife Karen, all Clark; and William Schell and his wife Dorothy, Sharon; and two stepdaughters, Shawnie Nagy and Tammy Townson and her husband Tom.
She also will be missed by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her first husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan M. Svirbly, whom she cared for her entire life; three sisters, Flora May Coxson, Neomia Myrinda Levitt and Margaret “Peggy” Brakeman; and a brother, Leon Schell Jr.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery. Hermitage.
