LaVella Joyce Ray, 62, one of nine children of Thomas S. Mohler and Bernice L. Blacker, was born at Bostwick May 28, 1931.

She lived at Bostwick, ElDorado, Kan., and Superior but most, of her life was in Superior where she graduated from high school and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She married Darrell Ray March 12, 1950 in the Bostwick Methodist Church. To this union, four children were born, Lee Ann, Larry, Randy & Mark. Unfortunately they only got to spend 29 years of married life together.

She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, Darrell; three brothers, Gerald, Samuel and an infant brother, Dwight

She is survived by her mother, Bernice Mohler, Superior; one daughter, Mrs. V B. Johnson (Lee), Goehner, three sons, Tec. Sgt. Larry, Jacksonville, Ark., Randy, Superior, and Mark, Yutan; four brothers, Ferald, Wichita, Clede, Ogden, Kan., Harlan, Virginia, and Thomas, Broken Bow; one sister Mrs. Dale Dunn (Lavetta) Superior; four grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She died Sunday at the Mary Lanning Hospital, Hastings. Services were held from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Superior, Tuesday with the Rev. Larry Michael-Rush and Art Taylor officiating. Interment was in the Bostwick Cemetery.
