Born December 4, 1925 in Magna, Utah, daughter of John Hilmer and Ellen Maria Harkness Benson. Married Don J. Bawden, Sr. May 26, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. Active member of LDS Church, serving in many positions including Primary and Relief Society president. Member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Survived by husband, Don, Magna; three sons and one daughter, Don and Marsha, West Valley City; Paul and Beverly, Cottonwood Heights; Neil and Sharron, West Valley City; V. Kathleen and Bill Shelley, Magna; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Earl Benson, Murray; Dean Benson, Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Ellen Clark, West Valley City; Beth (Arnold) Beckstead, Magna; Josephine Foote Chambers, Magna; Dorothy (Jim) Marshall, Sandy; preceded in death by parents and granddaughter, Maria Alaine Christensen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 noon, at the Pleasant Green Second Ward, 8739 West 3000 South. Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
