Funeral services for Mrs. Martha A. Young, 73, were held Monday afternoon from the Quail Baptist Church at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Young died at her home in the Quail community Sunday, January 21 and was 73 years, 10 months and 29 days of age, having been born in White County, IL on February 22, 1860.
Mrs. Young was an old time settler in this section and has resided in the Quail community for many years. Her funeral was attended by many friends and persons whom she knew in the early days of this county.
She is survived by her husband, J. L. Young of Quail; four sons: W. O. Young of Quail; J. E. Young of McKnight; C. L. Young and H. M. Young, both of Quail; four daughters: Mrs. Laura Merrrell of Eastland; Mrs. Mattie Lane of Paducah; Mrs. Ella Brewer of Wellington; and Mrs. Golda Morring of Clarendon. She was married to J. L. Young in 1877, to which union was born nine children, eight of which survive. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
