Ella Mae Smith, 86, died at Lubbock Wednesday, April 6, eight days after she suffered a heart attack. The former Ella Mae Young was born in Howell County, Missouri September 8, 1890, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Young, they came to Texas while she was a child. She was married there to Walter Smith, who preceded her in death in 1930. She continued living at Quail a number of years, but made her home in Wellington for a period of time before moving to Lubbock in 1953. Mrs. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church,Lubbock. Survivors are three sons, Buster Smith of Lorenzo, Jack Smith and Sunday Bill Smith of Lubbock; one daughter, Mrs. Vaudell Wilson of Pasadena; a step-son, Dudley Smith of Hemet. Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Lane of Deming, N.M.; 18 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
