GOOD MAN GONE
Funeral Of Prof. Long At Beaver Today
Beaver, Feb. 27--[Special]--On Tuesday morning, Prof. N.C. Long of the mathematical department at Geneva College, departed this life. His death was caused by pleuro-pneumonia after a two-weeks' illness. Mr. Long graduated from the college in 1889 and for the past two years had been an efficient and highly esteemed professor in the institution.
At 10:30 o'clock today, to the sad tolling of the college bell, the students and professors marched from the family residence to the college chapel, which had been heavily draped in honor of the sad event. The large audience there awaiting the remains, the tributes of the officiating ministers, who represented the college faculty, board of trustees and the church of which he was an honored member and the exquisite floral tributes of professors, students and classmates all served to show the estimation in which he was held by all who knew him.
His death is a great loss to the college and community, as well as to his young widowed wife and many dear friends. Long will be remembered as a faithful student, an efficient professor and an upright and Christian man.
